Planning
I am planning to take a full series of photographs with the theme of architecture, i will probably travel to the nearest big city which is Liverpool because it is packed full of different architecture ranging from old buildings to beautiful big towers.
I will also take a few shots in Southport as that has some exquisite architecture as well.
I am really looking forward to this project as it allows me to add my own twist on things and be fully creative, however i am also nervous as i have never fully photographed architecture on its own but i have shot many things including a full wedding from start to finish.
I might take a tripod with me so i can take 1 second exposures so that the buildings are perfectly in focus and still whilst the back ground is blurry.
Today i went out into Southport to take 24 shots of film on a Pentax K1000, I went down Lord Street as it has a wide variety of different buildings from different eras which are really cool to photograph. Then i headed round to the vintage arcade as it has a real feel to the place which gives the shots a real vintage feel.
Then after shooting the 24 shots of film i headed back to the college darkroom and chose 3 of my favorites out of the 24, all of my 24 shots fit with my architecture brief which i chose.
Here is my contact sheet of all 24 shots-

Here are my tester prints-

My testers help me decide how long i should expose my photo sensitive paper for, i choose by seeing which one looks the best exposure and then i turn the timer to that time in the dark room to get the perfect exposure.

As you can see in this print it needs the sky burning out as its too over exposed compared to the rest of the image.
Here are my final three prints, which i am completely in love with and i am happy that they turned out so good.
